Dax-Ur was one of Krypton's greatest scientists and was well known for designing a layout and complexion of a machine that was later dubbed Brainiac. When he realized the danger of his design and that it had the potential to destroy entire planets once it was finished, he abandoned his work and retreated to Earth.
