First created in order to more effectively combat what few pirate organizations were left in the Ogriand Sector, the Constrictor-class Cruiser was developed in order to stop fleeing ships from entering hyperspace. As such it is outfitted with gravity well projectors, on the same level as the Immobilizer 418 Cruiser designed by Sienar Fleet Systems. The ship is properly outfitted for its role in attacking and neutralizing enemy forces. It was decided that the ship would be paired with vessels more geared towards combat, so its weaponry systems would be oriented towards ionizing enemy ships and taking down enemy starfighters.
