Originaly used a buffer territory between France and Prussia. It drew its original support from the "Society of German Friends of Liberty and Equality". This was a native version of the jacobins in Mainz. Founded by Georg Forster. Its formative years were influenced by the writing of Kant, Fichte and Rehberg.
