The Clerk officiated at the trial of Clayton Hibbs at Weatherfield Crown Court in October 2016 for the murder of Kylie Platt. He asked the jury foreman if a decision had been reached and what the verdict was. When the foreman announced "guilty", Clayton's furious brother Macca erupted in the public gallery and promised to free this fifteen-year old sibling.
