Marco Wesker was the third of at least thirteen candidates for Project W. As of late 1998, the only confirmed survivors were Albert and Alex Wesker (in mid-1998, Umbrella believed the former to be deceased), meaning that he perished some time before July, when Alex described the project's success rate.
