Hanson was a master sergeant of the Confederate Marine Corps during the Guild Wars. In 2488 on Turaxis II he helped rescue recruits Jim Raynor, Tom Omer, Hank Harnack and other survivors of the Daddy's Girl dropship crash. The recruits had taken shelter from Kel-Morian attacks when Hanson located them. Hanson escorted them to the base of Turaxis Prime.
