Super Typhoon Nida, known in the Philippines as "Super Typhoon Anna", is the most intense tropical cyclone recorded in the Philippines. On 12:45 UTC, January 9th, Nida had made landfall over Quezon at peak intensity which made it the strongest ever to make landfall. It had slightly weakened due to land interaction, and made its second landfall over Metro Manila, also at peak intensity on January 10th, then made several more landfalls over the Southern Luzon Islands.
