Terauchi was a member of the Tribe of Noriaki who fled into the Shadowlands following the Fall of the Kami and the failed assault on Seppun Hill. On their thirteenth day in the Shadowlands, Terauchi witnessed the chieftain of the tribe, Mutsuhito, killing Soseki because he questioned the decision to journey into the Shadowlands. Terauchi continued with Mutsuhito, and after three months in the Shadowlands he joined Fu Lengs forces when they encountered the fallen Kami at the Festering Pit.
