Tran Van Ky was a female Human Starfleet Academy Cadet in the 2280s. On stardate 8083.6, she took part in a training cruise aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain Spock. Ky served as communications officer during the cruise, and was subjected to several tests of her abilities by Spock. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)
