Sílthrim was a major city in the hidden Elven nation of Du Weldenvarden, that was bordered by the Ardwen Lake. It was second only to Ellesméra in greatness. In Eldest Eragon, Orik, Arya and some elves travelled to Sílthrim before going to Ellesméra. Near Sílthrim, Murtagh tried to scry Eragon but was blocked by Eragon's amulet, given to him by Gannel, chief of Dûrgrimst Quan, who was ordered by King Hrothgar to cast a spell on an amulet to guard Eragon from Galbatorix's scryers.
