The RG721MSM features an American basswood body with a spalted maple top bolted to a Wizard Premium neck with a 24-fret bound birdseye maple fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez CAP-VM humbucking pickups and a Tight End R fixed bridge. The RG721MFMA is a similar model with an ash body with a flamed maple top. Several similar models with rosewood fretboards have been produced including the RG721RW (rosewood top), RG721 (sonokeling top) and the RG721FM (flamed maple top).
