Black dragons are random monsters in ADOM. They are notable for their ability to breathe streams of acid, as well as their not inconsiderable strength. They also drop large piles of loot when killed. After the PC reaches experience level 15, solitary black dragons start appearing as possible wilderness encounters. These encounters can only occur on swamp tiles.
