The UNSC Counterforce Task Force (CTF) is a special forces division attached to the UNSC Special Operations Command, the UNSC Navy, and the UNSC Medical Corps. It is an integrative and versatile special missions force for the deconvolution of strategic scenarios involving weapons of mass effect (WME) or weapons of mass destruction (WMD), including bomb scenarios and the deployment of WMDs against civilian or military populations. Integrating the unique capabilities of multiple branches of the armed forces and the UNSC Medical Corps, the Counterforce Task Force is equipped to counter pyrotechnic, thermonuclear, chemical, or biological unconventional weaponry in any strategic environment.
