Laurence Thurmond is an attorney practicing in Miami, and is also an amateur pilot. Several years ago, Thurmond defended a man who shot and killed Grainy, a young Vice cop who was being brought up by James "Sonny" Crockett during a drug deal gone bad, leaving a widow and a baby.
