Khatuna Lorig ( Georgian : ხათუნა ქვრივიშვილი, Khatuna Kvoerivisjvili ) ( Tbilisi , January 1 1974 ) is an American archer . Lorig was born in Georgia , Soviet Union , as Khatuna Kvoerivisjvili. She started archery when she was twelve years old. Lorig shoot with a recurve bow . They did with the joint team of former Soviet republics participated in the Olympic Games in Barcelona (1992). Individually she won the sixth place, the team ( Natalia Valeeva and Ludmilla Arzhannikova ) she won a bronze medal. Georgia they did in 1996 and again in 2000 participated in the Games, but took no final. In 1996 she moved to New Jersey . She wanted to compete for America in the Olympics in 2004, but was only a year later naturalized .
