Gina Wickwear is a modern Oz author. Her novel The Hidden Prince of Oz (2000). Her article recounting the writing of that book appeared in The Baum Bugle, Vol. 45 No. 2 (Autumn 2001). Wickwar attended the University of Alaska; she wrote her master's degree thesis on L. Frank Baum's Oz novels ("An American in Fairyland: A Study of L. Frank Baum's Oz Books"). Her manuscript for Hidden Prince won the centennial contest for a new Oz book sponsored by The International Wizard of Oz Club.
