The WPC was on duty in a police car in Coronation Street when she signalled Mike Baldwin to pull over in his jag just after he left the Rovers Return in April 1988. The officer informed Mike that he hadn't given a signal before pulling out and asked him to get out of the car to be breathalysed. When the test showed him to be above the legal driving limit, he was ushered into the police car and taken to the station, where he was charged with drink driving.
