The University of Bologna was an institution of higher learning in the city of Bologna, Italy on Earth. Founded in the early 11th century, it was the oldest continually-operating university on Earth. Jill Rosado was head librarian at the University of Bologna for close to fifty years, roughly from the 2320s through the 2370s, before retiring, and beginning a second career in Starfleet.
