In The Sims 2, teens are only eligible to work part-time jobs. Part-time jobs have hours that do not interfere with a teen's school schedule. Reaching the top of a part-time career track is a prerequisite to fulfilling the "Overachiever" want for teens. Elders who are unemployed or retired are only eligible for part-time jobs; elders who hold a full-time career when aging into an elder will continue to work full-time until they leave their job or retire. Elder part-time jobs have the same advancement levels as teen part-time jobs.
