Arun Koury is a retired naval officer of J Andres. Koury was once the commanding officer of the JAS Bermuda, one of the J Andres Navy Aircraft carriers. Following his service on active vessels, he returned to the Block Island Naval Institute to teach future naval officers tactics and leadership. With the fifth reformation in 2032, the naval institute was shut down and Block Island was renamed Puerto Pacis and turned into a vacation resort. Koury retired from the military and returned to his family farm in the northern regions. He was elected Governor of Mercton in 2055.
