The Burger Van Vendor was the sole witness to the car crash which resulted when Aidan Critchley stole Ken Barlow’s car and went joyriding in it with Sarah Platt. Aidan clipped the kerb at speed and overturned the vehicle, immediately running off and leaving the scene of the accident. The Vendor gave chase for a short distance but gave up the pursuit when he saw Sarah, badly injured and trapped in the car. He then rang 999.
