Around thirty days after Emergence Day, Kogan fought in the effort to defend Halvo Bay from the Locust. He was fighting in the Old Town district of the city when a Lambent Wretch jumped on him. One of his squadmates then shot the Wretch, causing it to explode and kill Kogan. His COG Tag was later recovered by Lt. Damon Baird of Kilo Squad.
