Virgil Butler was mentioned as one of Juliet and Butler's ancestors. He was the first Butler to be paired with a Fowl. He was contracted as a servant, bodyguard, and cook to Lord Hugo de Folé during one of the first Norman crusades. He is mentioned in Book 1.
