Gate of Mahg Mar is a term for the Stargate for the local population on the planet P3X-289. On this planet, the Gate of Mahg Mar was discovered roughly 563 years ago. Since then, it was believed to have been of ritual significance in the worship of the "goddess" Morrigan. The gate was then taken from the ruins of Danaan and put on display in the National Museum of History. It was not until SG-1 visited then planet in 2003 that the ring's true purpose and name was discovered. (SG1: "Revisions")
