Nyler Jewel is a Corporal in the Provost's Guard. He is married and has children and grandchildren who live in the same house as he does, which is at least three stories high. He is the most senior street Dog in the Lower City of Corus and paired up with Osgyth Yoav. Together they walk the Evening Watch. When Clara Goodwin was a Puppy Jewel was one of her senior guards. Jewel appears both in Terrier and Bloodhound as a minor character, being in on Beka's investigations. He might also appear in the last installment of the Provost's Dog trilogy, Mastiff.
