Richard Ellis Sligh (August 18, 1944 – December 23, 2008) was an American collegiate and professional American football player who played for the American Football League's Oakland Raiders. Sligh played collegiately at North Carolina Central University from 1962 to 1964, and was taken in the tenth round of the 1967 Common Draft as a defensive tackle. He was taken ahead of such notable players such as Preston Pearson, Leroy Mitchell, and Randy Rasmussen. During his time in the league he played in a total of eight games, not registering a tackle in any of them. Sligh was a reserve for the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II
