dVel'nahr was a word in the Vulcan language, meaning "Vulcan by choice" in Federation Standard. It described a rare honor bestowed on non-natives of Vulcan, including few Humans. Garamet Jen-Saunor theorized that Yoshi Nakamura may have become a dVel'nahr after disappearing from the historical record while living on Vulcan. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)
