Following the initial engagements at Callisto and Io, Perseverance quickly redeployed to Europa to assist, escorted by the destroyer New York. Both ships arrived at Europa on March 17, with the crew of the Perseverance quickly set about effecting repairs to the badly damaged Alexandria.
