The Gold Medallion is an obtainable item in Silent Hill. Harry Mason can find it inside the chemistry lab on Midwich Elementary School's second floor. The medallion isn't initially obtainable, as it is clutched by a statue of an old man's hand. Only after using a chemical found in the chemistry supply room can Harry pick up the medallion. Its purpose is to allow access to the clock tower door in the school courtyard. It, along with the Silver Medallion, opens the door and allows Harry to enter the Otherworld version of the school.
