In an alternate timeline, Elizabeth Zaman was the governor who oversaw the Federation colonies on Sherman's Planet. Zaman's office was located in Port Emily and featured decor that reminder the governor of her ancient Pakistani heritage back on Earth. She died from an unknown outbreak among the colonists in 2268 after only a year in office. After her death, Federation Undersecretary of Agriculture Nilz Baris became the de facto leader of the colony until the planet was seceded to the Klingon Empire.
