This mob is vulnerable to all forms of CC. In fact, it has been found that if you CC them for a few seconds prior to actually pulling them over, you can prevent them from calling slaves entirely. This includes everything from Scatter Shot to Sap and Sheep. Just have the puller/tank damage them after a count of five and you will be able to deny them their cry for help.
