The Bajoran Cybernetic Institute was a body that existed within Bajoran society. In the Mirror Universe, Annika Hansen claimed she was transporting microbiotic material to the cyberetic institute after she encountered Intendant Kira Nerys. (DS9 novel: Dark Passions) It's not known whether the institute has a counterpart in the standard universe.
