The Nephalem Cube was to be a new feature of Diablo III which would have allowed players to salvage items and get raw materials. It also has been stated that depending on the item level, rarity and/or properties the quality of raw materials obtained would vary. This item was removed from the game during development, and replaced with ability to salvage items at Blacksmith.
