Mr. Letterman (voiced by Stan Freberg) is the executive of the post office where Herman Post works. After seeing Herman fall for a trap set by Garfield, Mr. Letterman deems him unworthy as a mailman and strips him of his job. Unaware of how much a threat Garfield is to mail carriers, he is eventually forced to take on the route with Jon Arbuckle's house. He sees it as no big deal until Garfield gives him "the works". He finally gives up and rehires Herman.
