La Gaditana is the name of largest of the three privateers taken as prizes when the Spanish surrendered at Scotchman's Bay. It was commanded by Lieutenant Hornblower during the trip to Kingston, Jamaica. Shortly after the arrival of Renown and the prizes, La Gaditana was taken into the Royal Navy service as sloop of war and renamed HMS Retribution by Sir Richard Lambert, Vice Admiral of the Blue, K.B.
