The Angel of Light was a character in the tale of the Knight of Darkness. In the legend, the Knight of Darkness left the known world a friend of the Angel of Light, but returned a conqueror. He slaughtered many of the Angel of Light's armies, claimed his capital and thoroughly defeated him, only to be drawn into another conflict many years later, with the Angel of Light as his ally.
