The Red Snow Battle was fought after the Lion Clan Champion, Akodo Meikuko, reacted violently to a casual statement by a Togashi monk. She lead 20,000 Lion Clan samurai in an attack on Kyuden Togashi during the winter. Only 2,000 survived.
