Gehenne was one of the Seventeen Towns of Phæþaan, the only south of the Sea of Seventeen Sackings (then known as the Wrist-Slit Sea). It was named after Gaiayyna, a nameless goddess whose name means "Creator Goddess" in Ancient Scyþrækyan. She is the namesake of the Lake Gehenne (often the Salt Sea) in Sarpland, the River Gehenne between Flotch and Telf, and Mount Gehenne in Crahia.
