The Bionic Beauty Salon was introduced to Kenner's 1976 lineup, alongside the release of the Jaime Sommers action figure, and the Bionic Woman Designer Collection. Fans of the Six Million Dollar Man action figure line complained that the playset did not fit well with the status of a heroric action figure, but young girls loved it. In addition to allowing youngsters to style Jaime up, she could also monitor, and repair her Bionics, as well as receive and accept asignments from this base of operations.
