The 2016 Pacific typhoon season typically runs year round, but most storms form between May-October. The 2016 Pacific typhoon season was above active, with 35 depressions/disturbances forming, 31 of those becoming tropical storms, 25 of those becoming typhoon and 9 of them becoming super typhoons. The strongest storm of the season was Keranique with 867 millibars and winds of 220 miles per hour recording in 1-min, 10-min speeds being at 195 miles per hour. Gusts were also up to 235 miles per hour for Keranique.
