The plant features a single large cooling tower used to vent excess heat from the interior. As the concept suggests, this is basically a thermal-based power plant. Technological advancements enable them to operate even without any water bodies nearby for cooling purposes. They are cheap to construct and provide power outage similar to the GDI power plant. Nod also made use of advanced power plants, which were essentially standard power plants with additional turbines.
