The Sacred Candle belonged to The Wildcats, Opie and his friends secret club. It was the duty of the "Keeper of the Flame" to stay in charge of the candle. That person, was Opie Taylor. It is said that when the candle burns out, a member would simply run to the dime store to purchase another one. It was said by Jubal Foster that the Sacred Candle was the cause of his barn burning down- but after Barney Fife investigated; it was shown that Jubal set the flame himself.
