Mavek was a male Cardassian in the 24th century. In 2370 Mavek held the rank of gul. In that year, working out of the mining moon Davonia, Mavek commanded the starship Dagger in an attack on the Federation cruiser USS Puyallup to kidnap a Horta which was travelling on that vessel. He took the Horta, Ttan, back to Davonia where he blackmailed her into locating valuable mineral deposits by threatening to damage her eggs which he claimed to have also have kidnapped, though they had in fact not been secured by the Cardassians.
