Athair meditates, thinking about a passage in the Tome of Prophecies, when he is interrupted by one of his disciples. He asks if the Ancient Walkers called him away; Athair answers that the Day of Fury will soon be at hand and the Lost Tribe must continue its pilgrimage. Athair explains that his time is nearly at an end and the disciple, Yanar, will soon become the leader of the tribe. Yanar doubts that he could do such a thing, but explains that "the other" will soon arrive to assist Yanar on his journey. As the tribe moves on, Athair wishes his own son, Sabre, could have been more like Yanar. The Walkers beckon Athair to take action and seek "the other" to guide Yanar on his pilgrimage.
