The Rabid bear is a bear that attacked Rudi and Darren. It had drunk the blood of a Vampaneze which had driven it crazy meaning it wasn't actually rabid, Darren had assumed as such until Larten Crepsley and Gavner Purl cut the bear's stomach, revealing vampaneze blood. Harkat, Streak, the two female wolves and the other Little Person all attacked the bear. The second Little person was crushed to death and Darren used one of his bones to fight it off. The bear was eventually killed and when the Vampires arrived at Vampire Mountain and told the Princes what had happened, it was looked into and they found a dead Vampaneze with some bites taken out.
