Brett Hill was the protocol chief in Los Angeles. He met Third Minister Hu Zhiaoxing and his aide Wang Zemin at the dock when their boat arrived from Catalina Island. Hill then escorted the two to a peace conference at the Marriott Hotel where Hu met with Secretary of State Jackson, Secretary of Defence Berkowitz and Secretary of the DEA Kojima.
