T-3 units were droids employed on the ice planet Akuria II during the Galactic Civil War. Older and sturdier than the more modern astromech droids, the T-3 units were resigned to service aboard snow flyers, where they apparently had a primary role in the craft's operation, since they vehicle could not function without them.
