Scott Shelby visits the Bowles residence during his investigation and finds Susan Bowles lying unconscious in a bathtub with her wrists slit. He treats her wounds and helps take care of Emily, then talks to Susan and learns that her husband left her shortly after Jeremy was kidnapped. She gives Scott a nonworking cell phone that her husband left behind, hoping that it will aid his investigation.
