Dexter Smith was an Earthforce Captain and a Clark-loyalist. While in command of the EAS Agrippa, Smith took part in the Battle for B5 Independence, leading the first wave of destroyers. Upon arriving in Babylon 5 space, he ordered Babylon 5 and the two renegade ships, the EAS Alexander and the EAS Churchill to surrender. Captain Sheridan attempted to convince Smith to leave peacefully, but to no avail. In the battle that followed, Smith was killed when the Agrippa was destroyed with all hands.
