The story of Ghrelk was told to the Mad God Sector 3600 by Sinestro. With this tale, and the hundreds more before it, Sinestro wished to show the imprisoned sector that the Guardians of the Universe and their Green Lantern Corps were fallible. The containment of the Oan Sciencell could easily be overcome by something as powerful as 3600. This was 1000th tale.
